All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Herman Lewter Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 5, in the Marshall Street chapel of Rose-Neath Funeral Home, for Herman Lewter, 74, who died Monday at 6 a.m., in Confederate Memorial Center, after a lengthy illness. Officiating at the services was Dr. James Middleton, pastor of the First Baptist Church. Burial will be in Hickory Grove Cemetery near Coushatta. Mr. Lewter was a retired employee of Shreveport Garment Works, and a member of the First Baptist Church, where he was a member of the Silent Sunday School. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Alva Arnold Lewter, and a brother, George Lewter of Shreveport. Pallbearers were Joe Dixon, Don Bounds, Ford Gibson, Bob King, Dallas Lewter, and Gene Goodwing.
