Mrs. Mary Etta Rawlins Luther

  Mrs. Mary Etta Rawlins Luther, 79, of Springhill, La., died at
12:25 a.m., June 16, 1987, at Fountainview Nursing Home, after a
long illness. She was born in Rogers, Tex.

  She is survived by her husband of sixty years, Herbert C.
Luther. Prior to their moving to Springhill, they were residents
of Many and Shreveport for many years.

  Other survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Aline
and Marion D. Edwards of Lafayette; Frances and Fred Thaxton of
Springhill, Ruth and Elbert Bailey of Center, Tex.; two sisters,
Mrs. Ruth Head, and Mrs. Dorothy Rodgers; one brother, J. Dean
Shaw; eight grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.

  Services will be conducted by Mr. Charles Bryce at the
Springhill Bailey Mortuary Chapel, at 2 p.m., Wednesday, June 17,
1987, with interment at Springhill Cemetery.
