Lilly, 86, a native of Marthaville, died Friday, Jan. 28, in Shreveport, where he had resided for four years. Mr. Lilly served as principal of Belmont School for 16 years, and after his retirement in 1940, was an accountant and notary public in Marthaville. He was a member of the Mangum Methodist Church in Shreveport, and had been a member of the Masons for 65 years. He served on the Board of Stewards of the Marthaville Methodist Church, for over 50 years. He was also past master of the Robeline and Marthaville lodges of F&AM. Funeral services were held Saturday at 2 p.m., in the Marthaville Methodist Church, with the Rev. Ralph Cain, the Rev. J. C. Roussiau, and the Rev. G. C. Burly officiating. Burial was in Beulah Cemetery near Marthaville, under the direction of Osborn Funeral Home of Shreveport. Survivors are his widow; a son, W. G. Lilly of Florien; two daughters, Miss Madeline Lilly, and Mrs. Richard Huffman of Shreveport; three nephews; one niece; five grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
