Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 28, in the Converse Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jack Byrd officiating, assisted by the Rev. Alvin Strother. Burial was in the Sardis Cemetery, under the direction of the Drewett Funeral Home. Survivors are three sons, Phoenix Henderson of Carthage, Tex., Dr. R. C. Looney of Lake Charles, and Benjamin M. Looney of Highlands, Tex.; one daughter, Mrs. Agnes Lucille Hoffman of Averill Park, N. Y.; 13 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; two brothers, John M. Magee of Converse, and T. T. Magee of Shreveport; three sisters, Mrs. Myrtin Anderson of DeRidder, Mrs. Danesse Edwards of Many, and Mrs. Lurline Goldsby of Mansfield. Mrs. Looney was the INDEX correspondent from Converse for many years.
