Funeral services were held Monday, March 6, at Saint Aloysius Catholic Church in Baton Rouge, with Monsignor Daniel Becnel officiating. Interment was in Roselawn Cemetery. Mr. Laney was a veteran of World War II, and was a photographer for the Louisiana Department of Public Works. He is survived by his wife, the former Helen Gorrian of Kirkentilloch, Scotland; two daughters, Marianne, and Celeste Laney, both of Baton Rouge; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. N. Laney of Baton Rouge; two sisters, Mrs. B. B. Joffrion of Cottonport, and Mrs. Bob Lowrey of Many; and one brother, Ernest Laney of Bogalusa. Pallbearers were Brooks Read, John Gasquet, Joe Jammaer, Richard McDowell, Allen Brent, Tom Smart, Buford Richardson, and Joe Lowrey.
