Claiborne E. Lum

  Claiborne Elmo Lum, 84, of Converse, died Aug. 23, in a Many
hospital, after an extended illness.

  Funeral services were held at 3 p.m., Aug. 24, in the Union
Springs Baptist Church, with the Rev. Preston Tibbitts
officiating, assisted by the Rev. Alfred Mitchell, and the Rev.
L. S. Gates. Burial was in the Union Springs Cemetery, under the
direction of the Drewett Funeral Home in Mansfield.

  Survivors include one son, Clinton E. Lum of Carthage, Tex.; one
daughter, Mrs. Ina Mitchell of Robeline; one sister, Mrs. Rutha
Berrick of Converse; 13 grandchildren; and 18 great
grandchildren.
