The child was apparently with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Leone, prior to the drowning. The Leones left the child in a pickup truck and went fishing. According to Sabine Parish Sheriff George R. Cook, the keys were in the truck. "The child apparently started the truck, and it rolled into the lake." The truck rolled 40 to 50 feet from the road to the lake, and came to a stop in 20 feet of water. The body was recovered by the Sabine Parish Sheriff's Dept., and La. State Trooper, Lee Raymond Isgitt. Survivors include the child's mother, Patricia Leone, and maternal grandparents. Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 6, at 3 p.m., at the Zwolle First Baptist Church, with the Rev. J. Lee Dickinson officiating. Burial was in the Zwolle Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home.
