Lewing, 66, of Many, died Oct. 28, after an extended illness. Surviving relatives include her husband, Aud Lewing of Many; two sons, Luther Dowden of Beaumont, Tex., and Frank Dowden of Leesville; a daughter, Willie Kirby of Knoxville, Tenn.; two sisters, Cora Brown of Hornbeck, and Bertie Mercer of Baton Rouge; a brother, Sidney McDaniel of Robeline; two half brothers, Monroe McDaniel of Hornbeck, and Buford McDaniel of Leesville; and eight grandchildren Services for Mrs. Lewing were held in Lewing Chapel, Oct. 29, at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Henry Ivie officiating. Burial was in Shady Grove Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home of Many. Pallbearers were V. C. Eason, Cleve Lewing, James George, Donnie Paul Lewing, Terry Byles, and Lyman Critenden.
