Lewing, 74, of Florien, were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 20, 1985, at Red Land Baptist Church. Rev. C. A. Lilly officiated. Burial was at the Yellow Pine Cemetery, under the direction of Thomas Mortuary of Many. Mr. Lewing died at 8 p.m., on Saturday, April 13. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Bell Lewing, a foster daughter, Robin Spikes Lewing; nine sisters, Mrs. Carrie Stallworth of San Francisco, Calif., Mrs. Alma Spencer, Mrs. Maxie Spikes, Mrs. Dessie Edmonson, all of Florien, Mrs. Lottie D. Williams of Braden, Florida, Mrs. Nellie Neal, and Mrs. Maybelle Simmons, both of Los Angeles, Calif., and Mrs. Marie Newton of Beaumont, Texas; three brothers, Rev. T. F. Simmons of Beaumont, Texas, Mr. Eddie Lewing of Los Angeles, Calif., and Rev. Lindberg Simmons of Garland, Texas; four stepchildren, Harvey Spikes, Ruby Presley, Euloise Holden, and Marie Williams; 27 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
