George S. Long

  Funeral rites for Congressman George S. Long, were held Thursday
at 2 p.m., at the First Baptist Church in Pineville. Interment
was in Greenwood Memorial Cemetery in Pineville. Congressman Long
died last Saturday in the Bethsada Naval Hospital, as the result
of a heart attack suffered last Thursday.

  Congressman Long was active in congressional matters. He was a
"champion" of helping Americans first, had a close touch with his
Louisiana constituents, rendering an unequaled service.
