"Lem" Lemons, 90, who retired as president and owner of Golden Rule Well Service, Inc., in 1997, died at home, Sunday, Aug. 20, 2000, in Great Falls, Va. Funeral services were held at Forest Park East, Webster, Texas, on Aug. 24, 2000. Mr. Lemons moved from his residence in Pasadena, Texas, to his son's home in Virginia last year. He was born in Many in 1909. He was raised on a farm, and worked in the oil fields of Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas, and Texas. During World War II, he was seconded to the shipbuilding industry in New Orleans, for the construction of Liberty Ships. He began Golden Rule in 1956. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Pasadena, Texas, and a patron of Cedar Grove Baptist Church. His beloved wife of 61 years, Eva Bernice Cranford Lemons of Converse, died in 1996. Survivors include his son, David K. Lemons, and daughter-in-law Patricia; grandsons, Aaron, and Jason; sister, Maudie Farrar of Purvis, Miss.; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
