Rudy "R. C." LaRue, Sr.

  Funeral services for Rudy "R. C." LaRue Sr., 59, of Many, will
be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, August 9, in Warren Meadows
Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Ed Cooper officiating.

  Mr. LaRue died Friday, August 4, 1995, in Zwolle, as a result of
an automobile accident.

  Mr. LaRue was born April 18, 1936, in Saginaw, Michigan, to
Lorraine M. Roenicke LaRue and Charles R. LaRue.

  Mr. LaRue was owner and operator of Boxcar Billy's, a family
operated retail furniture business in Shreveport. For several
years, Mr. LaRue owned and operated the former Stagecoach Stop
BBQ Restaurant in Many. He served in the United States Air Force
from 1953, to 1956. Mr. LaRue was a family oriented person, who
enjoyed humor, strength, courage, and determination. He loved to
be surrounded by his children, grandchildren, family, and
friends.

  He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Joe and
Virginia Escelera; his maternal grandparents, William and Mable
Roemeke; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Earnest G. and
Bessie Mae McComic; and two brothers-in-law, John O. Poag, and
Gary Standish.

  He was the loving husband of Mary Alice McComic LaRue of Many;
dad of six children and their spouses; and granddad to 23
grandchildren, Londie LaRue Chavez and her husband Andy, and
their children, Jeffery Chavez, Rachel, Jason, Joshua, and Jared
Gressett, all of Kingwood, Texas; Tom LaRue Matthews and her
husband Mark N. Matthews Sr., and their children, Mark J., Craig,
Cory, and Taylor, all of Baton Rouge; Rudy C. LaRue Jr. and his
wife Gayla Miller LaRue, and their children, Aaron, Zachary, and
Adriann, all of Benton, La.; Michael A. LaRue and his wife Dawn,
and their children, Mandy, Michael, Kevin, Amber, Ashley, and
Emily, all of Shreveport; Paul E. LaRue and his wife Carol, and
their children, Carrie, Kristen, Paula, and Alice Faye, all of
Shreveport; and David J. LaRue and his wife Lisa Salinos LaRue,
and their child, Madison. He was also survived by his father and
his wife, Dr. Charles R. and Lori LaRue of Chesaning, Mich.; and
by his mother, Lorraine M. LaRue, also of Chesaning, Mich.; a
sister, Yvonne and her husband Ray Raleigh of Adrian, Mich.; a
half sister, Nancy Zamudro and her husband Al of Fla.; several
sisters-in-law, Judy Standis of New Lothrop, Mich., Sandra Poag
of Chesaning, Mich., Liz Alexander and her husband Charlie of
Jacksonville, Fla., and Diane and her husband Dr. Trip Edwards of
Shreveport; a special friend and uncle, Amos McComic; several
aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.

  Mr. LaRue's sons and sons-in-law will serve as pallbearers.
