LaRue, 82, of Killeen, Texas, died Feb. 13, at a Texas hospital. Mr. LaRue was employed for 40 years with Civil Service at Fort Hood, Texas. After retiring in 1985, he worked as a door greeter at Wal-Mart. He entered the U.S. Army in December 1942, and served in WWII, and was discharged in March 1946. He was raised and educated in Zwolle. He married his first wife in 1947, in Zwolle, and married Effie Dixon in 1969, in Killeen, Texas. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Feb. 18, at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home Chapel, with interment following at Killeen City Cemetery. Father Edwin Kagoo officiated. Survivors include his widow, Effie LaRue of Killeen, Texas; son, Donald LaRue and wife Wanda of Zwolle; daughters, Dianna Williams and husband Kenneth of Zwolle, and Patricia Koscielski and husband Richard of Peru, Ill.; brother, Bernice "Bob" LaRue of Natchitoches; six grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. Mr. LaRue was preceded in death by his parents, Richard D. and Joanna BeBee LaRue; and two brothers, Leon, and Ernest LaRue.
