All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Mrs. Clara Bell Nance Lord Funeral services for Mrs. Clara Bell Nance Lord, 95, were held Friday, June 21, at 10 a.m., in Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel in Mansfield, La. Interment followed in Grove Hill Cemetery, under the direction of Rose-Neath's Mansfield Chapel. Mrs. Clara Nance Lord died Wednesday, June 12, in DeSoto General Hospital in Mansfield, La. She was born in Oxford, La., in DeSoto Parish, on April 21, 1896. She was a member of the Wallace Baptist Church in Wallace, La. She was instrumental in the beginning, and the building of Clara Springs Baptist Encampment in Wallace, La. She was past president of the DeSoto Association of the WMU in DeSoto Parish. She worked many years, with girls and boys in the Girls Auxiliary, and the Royal Ambassadors, and loved children and working with children. Mrs. Clara Nance Lord was preceded in death by her husband Jeb Stuart Lord. She is survived by three sons, W. G. Lord and his wife Sybil of Wallace, La., Fred A. Lord Sr. and wife Irma of Shreveport, La., and Jeb S. Lord Jr. and wife Betty of West Monroe, La.; four daughters, Mrs. Eloise Haire and husband Truman of Wallace, La., Mrs. Aileen Martin of Pleasant Hill, La., Mrs. Geraldine Stoner of Pelican, La., and Mrs. Clara T. McDearment and husband Frank of Pleasant Hill, La.; one brother, Mr. John Nance and wife Mae of Holdenville, Oklahoma; 24 grandchildren; and 83 great grandchildren. Pallbearers were grandsons as follows: Jeb S. Lord III, Clayton M. Lord, Don A. Davis, Byron Lord, Jody Davis, Fred A. Lord Jr., and Bill Lord.
