Lord were held January 15, 2002, in the Rose-Neath Chapel. Officiating was Bro. Rudolph Gordon, assisted by Bro. J. P. Taylor. Bro. Lord was born in Lula on April 13, 1920. He was a veteran of WWII, service in the Army. After being ordained into the ministry in 1956, he was active in the founding and pastoring of several area churches. He devoted 30 years as pastor of Hornbeck Bible Baptist Church, and currently was the pastor of Mt. Heights Baptist Church in Mansfield. He also held weekly services at Heritage Manor Nursing Home. Bro. Lord was preceded in death by daughter, Evelyn Lord Behan; and son, David Lord. Survivors include his widow of 60 years, Bernice Lord; daughters, Beth Nelson of Converse; Marleyne Jones and husband Kenneth of Tulsa, Okla., Bonnie Lord of Alexandria, and Kathy Dowden of Anacoco; son, Larry Lord and wife Diane of Shreveport; son-in-law, Dale Behan and wife Linda of Simpson; brother, Medford Lord of Mansfield; 17 grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren. Pallbearers were grandsons, William Dale Behan, Brian Lord, Scott Brooks, Sean Dowden, James McComic, and Jeff Jagneaux. Honorary pallbearer was Andrew Byrd. The family would like to thank Hospice, the congregation of Mt. Heights Baptist Church, and all those who gave love and support. Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Mansfield, La.
