Officiating was Rev. Rod Ostten. Graveside services and burial were held at 2 p.m., at Prewitts Chapel Cemetery, under the direction of Hixon Funeral Home. Mr. Laurence was born in Toro, La., lived in Westlake for the past 40 years, was an active member of Bethel Baptist Church in Westlake. He also served as a deacon. He was a project manager for The Offshore Co. (SONAT), before his retirement. He is survived by his wife, Della Hilton Laurence of Westlake; three sons, W. Nathan Laurence Jr. of League City, Tex., Michael Lynn Laurence of Lake Charles, and Teddy Lamar Laurence, Colorado Springs, Colo.; one daughter, Charlotte Ann Laurence Mayo of Lake Charles; one brother, Homer J. Laurence of Denham Springs; four sisters, Rilla Prewitt of Anacoco, Ruthie Hilton of Moss Bluff, Myrtle Daniel of Sampson, Ala., and Maggie Harvey of Pitken; fourteen grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
