D. P. Mahaffey

  Mr. D. P. Mahaffey, 96, of Florien, died in a Shreveport
hospital, on Monday, Dec. 12, at 8:55 p.m., following an extended
illness.

  Survivors include his two sons, W. J. Mahaffey of Florien, and
C. D. Mahaffey of Converse; three daughters, Mrs. Estelle Mains
of Florien, Mrs. Delphine Mixon of Shreveport, and Mrs. Ella V.
Salter of Bossier City; a sister, Mrs. Liza Chance of Hornbeck;
28 grandchildren; 51 great grandchildren; and 4 great-great
grandchildren.

  Funeral services were held at the Ebenezer Baptist Church on
Wednesday, Dec. 14, at 2 p.m. The Rev. Avon Cavanaugh officiated.
Burial was in the Ebenezer Cemetery, under the direction of the
Warren Meadows Funeral Home.
