Moffett, 88, passed away Sunday, Oct. 30, in Fraser Hospital, after an illness of many months. Mr. Moffett was a long time resident of Pleasant Hill, but had been at Heritage Manor for the past year. Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 31, at 2:30 p.m., in the First Baptist Church of Pleasant Hill, with the Rev. J. C. Salley, and the Rev. George Sherman officiating. Survivors include one son, Hubert Moffett of New Orleans; three daughters, Mrs. Harriet Valentine of Corpus Christi, Tex., Mrs. Thelma Darnell of Clinton, Okla., and Miss Grace Moffett of Houston, Tex.; two brothers, Larry, and Wade Moffett of Pleasant Hill; four sisters, Mrs. Annie Glass of Pleasant Hill, Mrs. Carrie Bell of Robeline, Mrs. W. A. Ross, and Mrs. Betty K. Meadows, both of Shreveport; two grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. The nephews served as pallbearers. They were Doyle Moffett, Jack Bell, Fred Fraser, Ralph Moffett, L. W. Sibley, and Wendell Collins.
