All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Odie Mayfield Funeral services for Odie Melvin Mayfield, 80, of Princeton, were at 4 p.m., Saturday, March 6, in the Marshall Steet Chapel of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Shreveport, with the Rev. Leslie Creel officiating. Burial was in Centuries Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Mayfield died Friday, March 5, in Shreveport Manor Nursing Home, after a sudden illness. A native of Tennessee, he had lived in Shreveport since 1968. He was an oil field worker, and a former resident of Logansport. Mr. Mayfield was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church in Logansport. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Ruth Davis-Mayfield of Princeton; three sons, R. W. Mayfield of Zwolle, W. H. Mayfield of Logansport, and Carroll Mayfield of Princeton; four daughters, Mrs. Lurleen Carpenter of Shreveport, Mrs. Oralee Sayers, and Mrs. Doris Bossier, both of Logansport, and Mrs. Bonnie Grimsle of Silsbee; 36 grandchildren, and 28 great grandchildren.
