The Rev. Glen Flenniken officiated. Burial was in Fort Jesup Cemetery. Mr. Mayfield, born in Shreveport, and a resident for many years, died at 5:30 p.m., Friday, May 21, at his Toledo Bend residence, after a long illness. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Lorraine Mayfield of Zwolle; mother, Mrs. L. E. Mayfield of Shreveport; daughters, Jacque Lynn Kinnebrew, Argyle Mayfield, and Janis Castanon, all of Houston, Tex.; step sons, William Thomas Broderick, and John Timothy Broderick, both of Leesville; brothers, Rex Mayfield, and Bruce Mayfield, both of Shreveport; and sister, Argyle Torry of Lafayette; and three grandchildren. Pallbearers were A. M. Turner, Jack M. Miller, Dick Gerlach, James E. McNerty, Ralph Festavan, and John Crossno.
