Muse, 76, of Salt Lake City, Utah, died Thursday, July 29, in Many, after an extended illness Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, July 30, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home, in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, in Many, with Bishop Glen Hardy, and Shreveport Stake President Charles Cagles officiating. Pallbearers included nephews Perry Muse, Archie J. Muse, Dillon Muse, Douglas Strickland; grandson Scot Hendricks, and one great-nephew, Bob Buvens. Additional services were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, August 3, in the Memorial Estates Chapel in Salt Lake City, Utah, with burial in the Cemetery in the Memorial Garden of the Valley Cemetery of Salt Lake City. Survivors include one son, W. Hilmer Muse of Salt Lake City; three daughters, Mrs. Lola Hendricks of Salt Lake City; Mrs. Katie Benson of Brigham City, Utah; Miss Mina Ruth Muse of Salt Lake City; two brothers, Raymond I. Muse of Logansport, and Melvin Muse of Many; two sisters, Mrs. Lucille Wright of Many, and Mrs. Grace Strickland of Little Rock, Arkansas; 15 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Mr. Muse served as President of the Corleyville Branch in this area for approximately 12 years, and as President of the North Louisiana District for six years. He devoded many hours of his life to genealogy work, and during his lifetime, traced his family tree as far back as the 1200's. His wife, now deceased, was the former Rosa Peterson, who was also a native of Many.
