He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Winnie Mae Maxey of Many, two sons, Charlie Maxey, and Tyrice Maxey, both of Many; a brother, O. C. Maxey of Lake Charles; and 3 grandchildren. Maxey was a life-long resident of Sabine Parish. He was a member of the Shriners, the Eastern Star, a 32nd degree Mason, the Royal Arch, and Scottish Rite. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Feb. 6, at 4 p.m., in the Many First Baptist Church. The Rev. Perry Lassiter, and the Rev. Buddy Greer officiated. Burial was in the Mt. Olive Cemetery, with Masonic Rites administered. Pallbearers were Mike Small, Pat Small, Joe Holcomb, Tom Holcomb, Phil Troha, and William Holcomb.
