The Sabine Index - Mertice Maxey

  July 5, 1973

  Mertice Maxey, 58, of Converse died Sunday, July 1, following a
short illness.

  Funeral services were held 9 a.m. Tuesday, July 3 at the St.
Joseph Catholic Church with Msgr. Robert C. Friend officiating.
The rosary was recited Monday evening at 7. Burial was in the St.
Joseph Cemetery.

  Survivors include his widow; one son, Mertice Paul Maxey of
Zwolle; three daughters, Mrs. George Morrison of Shreveport, Mrs.
Harold Wyatt of Marthaville and Mrs. Wilbert Maxey of Shreveport;
one brother Joseph Maxey of Shreveport; two sisters, Mrs. Agnes
Leone of Zwolle and Mrs. Lucy Procell of Coushatta; eight
grandchildren and one great grandchild. Pallbearers were the
deceased's nephews.
