(Jack) Muse 8 Aug 1952 - Funeral rites for Robert E. (Jack) Muse, 54, who passed away at Sabine clinic, Zwolle, Wednesday of last week were conducted at the Latter Day Saints chapel 4 p.m. Thursday by elders J. R. McFarlane and L. A. Murdock. Interment was in Many cemetery under direction Warren funeral home. Pallbearers were C. A. Hoagland, A. M. Skiner, O. D. White, T. F. Colbert, C. V. Jackson and Abb Howard. Surviving relatives include: the widow, Mrs. Eula Muse, Many; sons, James Robert Muse, Many, Arcie J. Muse, Longview, Texas; daughters, Mrs. Ruby Lee Sprouse, Many, Mrs. R. L. McDaniel, Many; sisters, Mrs. W. E. Strickland, Shreveport, Mrs. J. J. Wright, Many; brothers, W. M. Muse, Salt Lake City, Utah, Melvin D. Muse, Many, Raymond I. Muse, San Augustine, Texas, and six grandchildren. Mr. Muse was a life long resident of Sabine parish, having devoted most of his life for the benefit and improvement of better roads in which he took much interest. He filled a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in 1916 and 1917. He had been employed by Louisiana Department of Highways since 1929, during which time he served in several capacities. At the time of his death he was project engineer in charge of highway construction in Sabine parish and district maintenance supervisor for the parishes of Sabine, Vernon, DeSoto and Natchitoches.
