All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Casimir Dale Moss Casimir Dale Moss, 83, distinguished business man, and community leader of Winn Parish, died Wednesday, April 9, 1986, in Alexandria, La., after a lengthy illness. He was born March 2, 1903, in Winnfield, the son of the late Judge Cas Moss, and Ophelia Wallace Moss, pioneers of Winn Parish. In 1984, he organized Winnfield's First Federal Savings and Loan Association, and served as president until 1982, and as chairman of the board, until his death. He served as president of Louisiana Savings and Loan League, and as a director of United States League of Savings and Loan Associations. He was elected to the Louisiana Legislature in 1941. He is survived by his wife, Claire Boone Moss of Winnfield; one son, Cas B. Moss; and one daughter, Dale Moss Russell, both of Winnfield; one sister, Ophelia Moss Storey of Winnfield; six grandchildren, John G. Russell, George W. Moss, and Mary Claire Moss of Baton Rouge, La., Sarah Junkin of Los Angeles, Calif., and Meredith Bates, and Claire Russell of Winnfield; and three great grandchildren; and several relatives in Sabine Parish. Services were held at 2 p.m., Thursday, April 10, at the First Baptist Church of Winnfield. Dr. Calvin Phelps officiated. Burial was at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Winnfield, under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield. Family requests any memorials be made to Cas D. Moss Scholarship Fund, at first Federal Savings and Loan Association of Winnfield.
