E. E. Walker, Rev. Earl Marr, and Rev. Brent Fleming officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Mrs. Maxey died at Schumpert Hospital in Shreveport, on November 26, 1986, at 5:45 p.m. She is survived by her husband, Horace Maxey of Many; two daughters, Lorraine Alford of Dallas, Tex., and Corinie McCalman of Shreveport; one brother, P. G. Alford of Florien; three sisters, Velma Ammons of Many, Nettie Maxey of Many, and Bertha Hippler of Many; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one son, Curtis Wayne Maxey. Pallbearers included Freddie Hippler, R. L. Randolph, Bobby Tarpley, George Maxey, Billy Guay, Jerry Neel, Jerry Alford, and Swepson Armour.
