Mrs. Annie Merle Mayes

  Services for Mrs. Annie Merle Mayes, 64, of Converse, were held
at 2 p.m., Monday, Dec. 21, at Rose-Neath's Mansfield Chapel,
with the Rev. Mel Zerger officiating. Burial was at Converse
Cemetery.

  Mrs. Mayes died Saturday, Dec. 19, 1987, in Mansfield, following
a lengthy illness. She was a retired postal clerk, and a member
of the Converse Methodist Church.

  She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Mayes of Converse; two
sons, Benny W. Bossier, and Jerry K. Mayes, both of Converse; one
daughter, Judy N. Mayes of Shreveport; one brother, Maurice
McWilliams of Leesville; four grandchildren; and two great
grandchildren.

  Pallbearers were W. T. Boyd, Floyd Sistrunk, Cecil Brumley, Don
McDonald, Lindsey Stevens, and Jerry Snellings.
