Survivors include his wife, Elsie Rae Maxey of Zwolle, La.; one son, Guy Wayne Maxey and his wife Nell of Zwolle, La.; one daughter, Gay Lynn Colwick and her husband John of Mansfield, La.; two stepsons, Harold J. Clayton of Taylor Ark., and John T. Clayton of Bossier City, La.; three sisters, Mattie Lee Maxey, and Nannie Brandon, both of Zwolle, La., and Mary Partain of Gary, Tex.; three brothers, Louis Maxey of Zwolle, La., Paul Maxey of Noble, La., and Billy Maxey of Belmont, La.; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Services were held in the Warren Meadows Funeral Home Chapel, at 2 p.m., on Oct. 9, 1993, with Rev. Jerry Penfield officiating. Burial was in Zwolle Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Pallbearers were David Maxey, Larry Maxey, Scott Clayton, Terry Sebran, Mark Colwick, and Timothy Maxey.
