All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Ruth Heard Magee Funeral services for Ruth Heard Magee, 102, of Pelican, were held Wednesday, June 26, 1996, at 2 p.m., at Rose-Neath's Mansfield Chapel. Officiating was Rev. Carl Munyon, pastor of Pelican United Methodist Church, assisted by Rev. Mack Black, pastor of Pelican Baptist Church. Interment was at Pelican Cemetery. Mrs. Magee passed away June 25, at DeSoto General Hospital, after a lengthy illness. She was born in Mitchell, and was a former resident of Oak Grove. She retired as a seamstress for Brown's Cleaners. She was a member of Oak Grove Fellowship Baptist Church, also a resident of Heritage Manor in Mansfield for the past 20 years. Mrs. Magee had been active in the various activities there. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank S. Magee; sons, Franklin Magee, Heard Magee, and Huey Magee; 11 brothers and sisters. Mrs. Magee is survived by her daughter-in-law, Beth L. Magee of Pelican; grandchildren, Jan Magee Greer and husband Randy of Pelican, Mike Magee, and Vickie Magee of Missouri; great grandchildren, Jennifer Greer, Joshua Greer; four additional great grandchildren residing in Missouri; numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were J. C. Magee, Burnis Wilburn, A. W. McDonald, Hamp Heard, Arlon Skinner, and Dan Rankin.
