All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Mrs. Bamthora Ann Baker Meek Funeral services for Mrs. Bamthora Ann Baker Meek, 75, of 850 Ontario St., Shreveport, who died at 2:45 a.m., Saturday, April 4, at the Highland Sanitarium, after a four month illness, were held at 4 p.m., Tuesday, April 7, at Osborn Chapel in Shreveport. A native of Somerset, Ky., Mrs. Meek had lived in Winnfield for many years, and moved to Shreveport 33 years ago. She was a member of Kings High Christian Church. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Carver DeLoach, formerly of Zwolle, and Miss Ethel Meek, both of Shreveport; five sons, Willard Meek of Lake Charles, Harvey Meek of Grove, Calif., James Meek of Washington, D. C., Robert Meek of Shreveport, and Albert Meek of Los Angeles, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Howard Morgan of Waynesboro, Ky.; seven grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. Dr. William E. Wright, pastor of Kings Highway Christian Church, and the Rev. Beverly Bond, pastor of North Highland Methodist Church, officiated. Burial was in Forest Park Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Henry Steineau Jr., George W. James, Gradon Smart, Hugh Morris, Powell Layton, Al Parks, J. Bryan Thigpen, and Tom McClellan. Honorary pallbearers included Charles M. Evans, Ed Robertson, Tom Robertson Jr., Bill Noel, J. C. Ferguson, Hugie Morris, Max Brown, Watt ?, Ray Poudrier, Fern Greaharg, Harold Bryant, Jack Reubic, Jimmy Davis, Dudley Proctor, Judge Revian D. Hendrick, Sheriff J. Howell Flourney, Judge G. Randall Whitney, Jack Watt Jr., Pat Turner, ? Lefkovits, Robert Pearson, ? B. Massey, Dr. W. F. Dru?, Dr. L. H. Murdock, Bob Ho?, and deacons and elders of the Kings Highway Christian Church.
