Chevis Roy McGuffin

  Chevis Roy McGuffin, 73, died Friday, March 12, in a Shreveport
hospital, after a long illness. He had been a resident of Vivian
for the past seven years.

  Funeral services were held Saturday, March 13, in the Vivian
Methodist Church, with the Rev. George Jordan officiating. Burial
will be in the Vivian Cemetery.

  Survivors include his widow; three sons, C. R. McGuffin Jr. of
Tripoli, Libya, James E. McGuffin of Shreveport, Wesley McGuffin
of Many; one daughter, Miss Laverne McGuffin of Vivian; three
brothers, Curtis McGuffin of Lozi, Tex., and Alvin McGuffin of
Lozi, Tex., Marvis McGuffin of Stephens, Ark.; three sisters,
Mrs. J. J. McFarland, Mrs. C. R. Bock of Shreveport, and Mrs.
Bernice Stepson of Shreveport; 10 grandchildren; and a number of
nieces and nephews.
