The Rev. James Eames, and the Rev. J. D. McNeal officiated. Burial, with Masonic graveside rites, were at the Lamberton Cemetery near Robeline. Mr. McFerren, born in Marthaville, died Thursday, July 14, at Natchitoches Parish Hospital, after a long illness. He was a retired employee of the Louisiana Department of Highways, and was a member of the Marthaville Masonic Lodge No. 453. He is survived by his widow, Dorothy Mitchum McFerren of Natchitoches; three sons, David McFerren of Robeline, Joe McFerren of Blanchard, and James Ray McFerren of Colfax; two daughters, Lettie Marie Armond of Bossier City, and Debra Kay Berry of Robeline; his father, Robert L. McFerren of Natchitoches; four brothers, William McFerren, Sr., of Napa Calif., Gerald Donald McFerren of Perryville, Walter McFerren, and Joe McFerren of Natchitoches; and 13 grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to the Masonic Children's Home in Alexandria, La., or the American Heart Fund.
