The Revs. Foster Jennings, and Brent Flemming officiated. Burial followed in the church cemetery in Marthaville. Mr. McFerren died Feb. 19, at his residence. He was a retired farmer, a former secretary of Rebel Park in Marthaville, and a U. S. Army Veteran of World War I. Mr. McFerren was a former resident, and native of Marthaville. He was a former constable of Ward 5 of Natchitoches Parish, and a member of the American Legion. He was also a member of the Bethany Baptist Church in Marthaville. Survivors include four sons, William H. McFerren of Napa, Calif., Gerald D. McFerren of Galvez, Walter McFerren, and Joe Amos McFerren, both of Natchitoches; two sisters, Mrs. Ila Bruce of Houston, Tex., and Mrs. Eunice Eason of Marthaville; 12 grandchildren; 4 step grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and 7 step great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Joe L. McFerren, James Ray McFerren, Huey P. McFerren, Amos David McFerren, Martin W. Leggion, and Kenneth R. Leggion. Honorary pallbearers were Sam James, Otto Parks, James Darnell, and Wayne McFerren.
