He served faithfully in the United States Army, and Brotherhood, Deacon Board, and Ever Loyal Club at Good Street Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas. George united with Chester Mae Collier in July 15, 1948, and moved to Dallas. From that holy matrimony, he is survived by four children, Charles R. McFarland, Evelyn D. Hubbard, Alfred B. McFarland, and Joseph L. McFarland; two grandchildren, Chandria O. McDonald, and Shavonica R. Mack; and one great grandchild, Desmine D. Hilliard; three brothers, Booker T. McFarland of Many, La., Julius McFarland, and James McFarland of Dallas, Tex.; and a host of other relatives and friends.
