Highway 120, between Marthaville and Robeline, according to the La. State Police. Pronounced dead at the scene of the accident was Dennis David McFerrin, 23, of Rt. 1, Robeline. McFerrin was a passenger in a northbound truck driven by Homer W. Withers, 18, of Robeline. The accident occurred about 9 p.m., when the Withers' truck left a curve, and went off the right side of the highway. The truck struck a tree head-on, killing McFerrin. McFerrin, a native of Natchitoches, is survived by his mother, Mrs. Mable Windham of Robeline; two sisters, Mrs. Sherry Runnels of Center, Texas, and Miss Brenda McFerrin of Robeline; his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Alton McFerrin of Marthaville; and his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Gunnel of Marthaville. Funeral services, under the direction of the Rockett-Nettles Funeral Home in Coushatta, were held on Monday, September 15, at 2 p.m. in the Beulah Baptist Church in Marthaville. Burial was in the Beulah Cemetery.
