Officiating were Rev. Billy Pierce, pastor of Cypress Baptist Church. Burial was held in Dayline Cemetery. Mrs. McDowell died Sunday, May 12, at her residence, following a short illness. She was born in Coushatta, La., and had been a resident of Benton for five years. Mrs. McDowell was a housewife, and a member of Aimwell Baptist Church in Zwolle, La. She is survived by one son, Walter E. McDowell of Shreveport; one daughter, Mary Alice Wrinkle of Benton, La.; one sister, Eddie Mae Hunter of San Pablo, Calif.; one brother, Franklin Giddings of Mariposa, Calif.; four grandchildren, Roger Wrinkle, Lisa Langford, Mike McDowell, and Ricky McDowell; and two great grandchildren.
