McDonald 12 Apr 1957 - Funeral services for John N. McDonald, 77, who died at at Shreveport hospital, Thursday April 4 was conducted at the First Baptist church at 3 p.m. Friday, April 5 with Rev. W. H. Rose officiating. Interment was in Many cemetery under the direction of Warren Funeral Home. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. John N. McDonald of Many, three sons, John N. McDonald of Many, T. E. McDonald of Shreveport, W. H. McDonald of Lafayette and six grandchildren. Pallbearers were George Cook, Ivy Veuleman, Lester Veuleman, Reuel Boone, Martin Gandy and Lee Jordan. Since early youth John Norman McDonald was identified with some of the commercial and practical phases of the lumber industry in western Louisiana. He clerked in stores, was an executive of lumber organizations, general manager for the Wyatt Lumber Co. at Gandy in Sabine Parish. Mr. McDonald held most of the positions of responsibility and authority in his little community. He was born near Spearville in Union Parish, March 21, 1880, son of Lopez and Mary (Picken) McDonald.
