Pugh McDonald (Hanley) Funeral services for Mrs. Jessie N. Pugh McDonald (Hanley), 83, of Sabine Parish, were held at 1 p.m., Sunday, March 3, 1996, in the Warren Meadows Chapel. The Rev. Hoy Leach officiated. Burial followed in the Many Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Mrs. Jessie Pugh McDonald (Hanley) died Friday, March 1, at Integrated Health Services of Many. She had resided at IHS of Many for a number of years. She was descended from the pioneering Cassel and Pugh families of Sabine and DeSoto Parishes. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and the Baptist Church. Survivors include one son, D. R. McDonald of Sabine Parish; three grandchildren, David McDonald of Dallas, Blake McDonald, and Laura McDonald, both of Atlanta; and one great grandson, Jared McDonald of Fort Worth, Texas. She is also survived by one brother, James B. Pugh of New Orleans; one sister, Jennie L. Lankford of Birmingham, Ala.; and numerous nieces, nephews, and close friends. Pallbearers were David McDonald, Blake McDonald, D. R. McDonald, David Kottenbrook, Rusty Beck, and Bob Spier. The family asks that any planned memorials be made to Alzheimer research.
