Claudie Masters

  Claudie Masters, 53, of the Plainview Community near Florien, died
Saturday, Apr. 10, as the result of a gun shot wound.

  Funeral services were held Monday, Apr. 12, at 10 a.m., in the
Plainview Baptist Church, with the Rev. E. C. Harkness, the Rev.
DeWayne Furlow, and the Rev. Virgil Taylor officiating. Interment
was in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows
Funeral Home.

  Surviving relatives are his wife, Mrs. Vernon Masters of Florien;
two daughters, Mrs. Ann Bright, Shreveport, and Cathy Masters of
Florien; mother, Mrs. Minnie Masters of Florien; five brothers, Oscar,
Otha, and Floyd Masters of Florien, Curtis, and Jesse Masters, both of
Springhill; one sister, Mrs. Tommie Thaxton of Florien, and his
grandmother, Mrs. Sarah Singletary of Florien.
