The Sabine Index - Raymond Eugene Meshell 
  
  24 Sep 1948 - Raymond Eugene Meshell, age 17, was laid to rest 
at Aimwell Thursday of last week. Last rites were conducted at 
Aimwell Baptist church at 2 p.m. by Rev. Pratt McCloud, assisted 
by Rev. S. M. Mulkey, Dr. A. S. Newman and Rev. J. B. Prewitt. 
Interment followed under direction Massingill funeral home with 
members of Zwolle post of American Legion in charge of services 
at the grave. 
  
  Recruit Meshell died in Fort Jackson, S. C. after serving in the 
army for six weeks.
