Interment followed at St. Joseph Cemetery. Rev. Charles Duncan officiated. Services were under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers were Harley Powell, Ted West, Edwin Ezernack, Calvin Jones, Joel Heard, Billy Sneed, Don Burkett, and Charles Meshell. Honorary pallbearers were Pat Wright, Jack Jordan, Norman Tucker, Quinton Brandon, Fred Ezernack, Morris Adair, Jackie Rivers, Doug Heard, Judge John S. Pickett, Dick Leone, Dr. Gene Poimboeuf, John Patton, and Tom Self. Surviving relatives include his wife, Mrs. Iva Lea Meshell of Zwolle; four sons, DeWayne Meshell, David Meshell, Donald Meshell, all of Zwolle, Dennis Meshell of Cotton Valley, La.; one sister, Exie Powell of Hornbeck; and 8 grandchildren. Mr. Meshell died Wednesday, June 22, at Pleasant Hill Hospital, after an extended illness. He was 90 years old.
