He was born in Zwolle, La., and had lived in Kirbyville 15 years. He was retired from the U. S. Air Force. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Monday, Aug. 5, in Causey's E. E. Stringer Funeral Home Chapel in Kirbyville. Burial was in Aimwell Cemetery near Zwolle, with military rites. He is survived by four daughters, Betty Ann Bond of Buna, Tex., Linda Sue Thomson of Kirbyville, Pat Anderson of Buna, and Brenda "Punkin" Harris of Buna; and 10 grandchildren; four brothers, W. H. Meshell of Call, Tex, A. J. Meshell of Buna, Tex., H. F. Meshell of Crosby, Tex., and J. W. Kelly of Vidor, Tex.; six sisters, Merlie Walker of Kirbyville, Thelma Honeycutt of Hemphill, Ethel Mae Cooper of Crowley, La., Mary Rutledge of Magnolia Springs, Tex., Betty Hall of Houston, and Mennie Harris of Jasper.
