McCollister, 80, died in his home, Monday, Oct. 11, at 12:45 a.m., following an extended illness. Funeral services were held in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Wednesday, Oct. 13, at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Bobby McCullough, the Rev. Johnny Rhodes, and the Rev. Owen Loftin officiating. Burial was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, under the direction of the Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Surviving relatives are his wife, Trudie McCollister; four daughters, Thelma Dewil, and Mrs. Cumiea Rains, both of Florien, Dorothy Satkamp of Marianna, Fla., and Mrs. Gwen Wilkerson of Shreveport; one son, Frankie McCollister of Shreveport; two brothers, Jeff McCollister, and Arthur McCollister, both of Many; five sisters, Mrs. Ona Miller of Florien, Mrs. Vivian Small of Haughton, Mrs. Ida Sibley of Many, Mrs. Ethel Small of Galveston, Tex., and Mrs. Grace Jackson of Baytown, Tex.; 17 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Wiley Cummings, Charlie Jett, Bobby McDonald, Sherman Tatum, J. C. Morris, Marquett Gore, Dago Busby, and Ross Miller.
