Funeral services will be held today at 2 p.m., in the New Jerusalem Baptist Church in Many, with the Rev. G. Williams officiating. Interment will be in the New Jerusalem Cemetery, under the direction of Jenkins Funeral Home. Mr. McClanahan was the coach at Pleasant Hill High School, and former coach of Carver High School, where he carried his boys and girls to district, region, and zone many times from 1952 to 1969. He and his boys moved to the Pleasant Hill High School, and along with the team at the high school, went to the finals in the Top Twenty in 1970. He was married, father of two children, and a member of the Elizabeth Baptist Church. He was also a member of Louisiana Education Association, Sabine Education Association, past secretary of Golden Era Lodge F & A M, past Royal Arch Captain of Pleasant Hill Chapter, Holy Royal Arch Masons, and a graduate of Alcorn A & M College, with further studies at Texas Southern University.
