McLanahan 26 Nov 1948 - Lee F. McLanahan, age 79, passed away at his home in Florien after a short illness. Funeral rites were held at Florien Baptist church 2:30 p.m. by Rev. V. K. Fletcher, assisted by Rev. Ernest Lilly and Rev. W. G. Bailey. Interment followed under direction Massingill funeral home. Pallbearers were Milton McLanahan, Robert Lee Allen, W. L. Dees, Ras Salter, Francis Gandy, Joe Woods, Max and Marion Dover. Honorary pallbearers were: Joe Dover, B. L. Williams, L. L. Williams, D. S. Leach, Roy Alford, A. L. Head, Dick Dupree, John Miller, Louis Lefkovits, Harmon Wright, E. L. Williams, C. C. Leach and Ivy Leach. Mr. McLanahan was a life long resident of Florien, having been engaged in the mercantile business there until his health forced him to retire. Surviving relatives include: wife, Mrs. L. F. McLanahan, son, A. V. McLanahan; daughter Mrs. E. L. Allens, all of Florien; sister Mrs. Minerva Salter, Fisher and four grandchildren.
