The Rev. Dan Flowers, John Giles, and Bill Miller officiated, Burial followed in Consolata Cemetery, under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. A Scripture Service was recited at 7 p.m., July 17, in the funeral home. George McLanahan died July 15, in Lake Charles, La. Mr. McLanahan was employed as a U.S. Probation and Parole officer for the past 17 years, serving as a State Probation and Parole officer for 13 years. He was a sergeant major in the US Army Reserve, and a member of Trinity Baptist Church. A native of Florien, he lived in Lake Charles for the past 31 years, where he was active in the Barbe Booster Club, as well as various athletic programs a Barbe. George McLanahan is survived by his wife, Mrs. Joyce Methvin McLanahan of Lake Charles, La.; one son, Stuart McLanahan of Lake Charles La.; one daughter, Heather McLanahan of Lake Charles, La.; one brother, Milton McLanahan of Tulsa, Okla.; one sister, Betty Jean Dees of Florien, La.
