"Red" McAllen Funeral services for Laverne J. "Red" McAllen were held Saturday, April 13, 1996, in the Hixson Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. M. C. Green officiating. His body will be cremated. Mr. McAllen, 63, of Zwolle, died Thursday, April 11, 1996, in the Willis-Knighton Medical Center in Shreveport. He was a native and longtime resident of the Leesville/Vernon Parish area, and a businessman in the New Llano/Leesville area, and a U. S. Army veteran as well. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Margaret Simmons McAllen of Zwolle; four sons, Mike, and Bryan McAllen, both of Sulphur, Kirk Deason of Pitkin, and Rodney McAllen of Tex.; one sister, Mrs. Gennie Stafford of Pollock; one brother, Bill McAllen of Leesville; ten grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
