McLanahan, 73, retired Postmaster of Florien after 26 years of service, died Thursday, Sept. 1, after a short illness. Funeral services were held Friday, Sept. 2, in the Florien Baptist Church, with the Rev. Billy Fuller officiating. Interment was in the Florien Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home of Many. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Ruth McLanahan of Florien; two sons, Ralph McLanahan of Lake Charles, and Milton McLanahan of Atlanta, Georgia; one daughter, Mrs. W. L. Dees of Florien; one sister, Mrs. E. L. Allen of Many; and five grandchildren. Pallbearers were George Cook, W. G. Lilly, Gordon Williams, T. M. Phillips, Melton Wright, and Roy Alford. Deacons of the church were honorary pallbearers.
