The Sabine Index - Louis S. McElroy

  27 Jan 1939 - Last rites for Louis S. McElroy of Pleasant Hill,
age 81 years, who passed away January 21, were held at the
Progress church Sunday, January 22.  Interment in the Progress
cemetery, Rev. Mrs. Ada Slaton of Mansfield officiating.  Funeral
directed by the Dennis-Green funeral home of Many.

  Surviving Mr. McElroy are seven children:  four sons, Williard
L., John H., W. W., of Pleasant Hill, and H. J.  of Waldon, Ark.;
three daughters, Mrs. Bertha B. Early of Belmont, Mrs. Kate Irene
Rains and Mrs. Corine Gewing of Pleasant Hill.

  Mr. McElroy had been a resident of Sabine parish since 1880,
one of the oldest settlers in the parish, one of the best beloved
in the Pleasant Hill community.
