All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Dessie Bea McElroy Graveside services for Dessie Bea McElroy, 87, will be held at 2 p.m., on Feb. 17, at Progress Cemetery, Cumberland Presbyterian Church, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Ms. McElroy was the daughter of the late John and Jimma McElroy of Pleasant Hill. Ms. McElroy passed away of Feb. 6, in Dallas. She was born in Mitchell, and was the fifth of nine children. Ms. McElroy was a graduate of Pleasant Hill High School, and Draughn Business College. She worked in Minden, and Shreveport, and Kansas City, Mo., before moving to Dallas in 1953. She retired in 1974, from E. B. Germany & Sons, an oil and gas firm, where she was an accountant for 17 years. Ms. McElroy was a member of Highland Park United Methodist Church, Dallas. Ms. McElroy is survived by three sisters, Loraine Weedon of Austin, Willa Mae Simpson, and Margaret Phillips of Dallas; one brother, Walter L. McElroy of Tyler; and twenty nieces and nephews.
